How Payouts Work

Payouts are the scheduled transfers that move your accumulated funds from your Swipe Aras balance account to your bank account. Learn how the payout flow works, what sweeps are, and how payout amounts are calculated.

Payouts are the scheduled transfers that move your accumulated funds from your Swipe Aras balance account to your bank account.

The Payout Flow

  1. Customer pays — Funds from authorized, captured payments accumulate in your store's Adyen balance account

  2. Settlement delay — Funds are held for T+N days (your agreed settlement delay) to account for potential chargebacks or returns

  3. Payout sweep — On the sweep schedule, funds transfer from your balance account to your verified bank account (Transfer Instrument)

  4. Bank receipt — Funds arrive in your bank account; timing depends on your bank's processing

What Is a Sweep?

A sweep is an automated transfer rule on your Adyen balance account. Swipe Aras creates two sweeps for your account during the approval process:

Sweep Type

Direction

Purpose

Push sweep

Balance account → Your bank

Regular payouts on your settlement schedule

Pull sweep

Your bank → Balance account

Top-up, if needed to cover obligations

You don't manage sweeps directly — Swipe Aras configures and owns them.

Payout Amounts

  • All payout amounts are in the default currency of your balance account (set at account creation, cannot be changed)

  • If you process transactions in multiple currencies, see Reference → Multi-Currency Architecture for how currency-specific payouts work

Payout Visibility

All payouts are visible in your dashboard under the Payouts section, including the payout amount, status, and associated date.
