How Transaction Fees Work

When a payment is captured, Swipe Aras applies a split rule that determines how the transaction amount is divided among:

  • Adyen (interchange and processing)

  • Swipe Aras (platform fee and markup)

  • Your reseller (if applicable)

  • Your account (your net proceeds)

The exact split depends on the pricing model configured for your account.

Pricing Models

Model

How It Works

Flat rate

A fixed percentage or cent amount per transaction

Cost-plus (interchange-plus tiered)

Interchange at cost + a fixed platform markup

Revenue share

A percentage of transaction revenue is shared with your reseller

Your specific rates are defined in your agreement. Contact your account manager for your rate schedule.

Split Rule Matching

Split rules are matched on four dimensions:

  • Payment method (card, ACH, etc.)

  • Shopper interaction (card-present vs. card-not-present)

  • Funding source (debit, credit, prepaid)

  • Currency

Different transaction types may result in different fee rates.

Transaction fees are recorded in the Payment Ledger and visible in your transaction detail and monthly statement.
